Adios, Texas

I am leaving the state. Nah, I didn't get kicked out of Texas yet.  It is for a good reason. I'm going to a large conference and this time I won't be just attending, I'll be working at it. This will be my first paying gig since I retired at the end of the school year and I'm looking forward to the hustle and bustle of it all.

I won't be back until next week, which means I will be out of blogland until then, also. I will catch up on your great posts when I get back.

And because I am celebrating my favorite time of the year, autumn, and  I miss seeing handwritten notes, if you would like a handwritten postcard from me from where I am going to my conference in Florida, send me an address at morfam@hotmail.com, or you can message it to me on FB if you know me there. I won't use your address for anything but to send the postcard. (I would be happy to send one to my international friends, too!)

What are your plans for the coming week? I hope it turns out to be spectacular for you~

  2. So you're not returning to that infamous club in Paris after all, huh? (LOL) Instead you're coming here to steamy Florida, probably Orlando. (or Grenelefe Resort maybe?) In that case, I'd love to get a postcard from you from a couple of miles up the road! (LOL)

If you haven't yet checked the forecast, dear friend, you won't need to pack your scarf and mittens. It's 90 degrees here most days. (I'll bet you wish your conference was in Nova Scotia!)

Have a nice trip, dear Shelly. We will all miss you while you're away from blogging and eagerly await your return.

    1. Shady: Yes, Orlando it is! And I knew the weather would be just like ours here- hot and humid. At least I am used to it! You all live in a beautiful part of our nation and I'm looking forward to seeing what I can of it again. I will be happy to send a postcard, too!

    1. I just saw that it's Orlando. That's about 2 1/2 hours away. My back would rebel at the drive.

    2. Janie: Orlando! The only place I've been in when I visit Florida, it seems~

    3. And I just realized some of my best blogging buds live there. We are going to have to do some kind of Florida meet and greet someday and have it in a place it's easy for you to get to! Wouldn't that be fun!

  4. Hi Shelly! Have a wonderful trip, it sounds like fun and to think you get paid for it, too! Autumn is also my favorite time of the year. Today I bought two orange (mercury glass inside) candle holders and have them lit as I am typing.

Well, I am now getting ready to email you my address! Thank you, what a special idea!

  35. I missed this post during my couple weeks away from blogging. However, since you are still willing to send the postcard, expect an email from me. Interestingly, my daughters and I collect post cards! I even posted (indirectly) about it awhile back and put my P.O. Box on the post asking bloggers to send us some. It was early in my blogging, so no one responded, but it was a fun thought.
