I Have a Sickness...

And this isn't even all of them.

I love working out, and I love shoes, so this is the inevitable collision of those two worlds. There's not much I am obsessive about, but this might qualify. What about you? Do you have a mild obsession with anything? (And the floor isn't dirty, but my phone camera is not the best.)

  1. WHAT?!!!

:-) Oh, girl. To me, this is just weird.

Just weird, says the gal with the eight writing journals. :-)

    1. Optimistic: Sunglasses are a good thing, too! And I regularly use every one of those pairs of shoes...

  3. Ok. I went ahead and counted (that's my weirdness) and you have a pair for every day of the month! I'm simultaneously awestruck and backing. away. slowly. :)

  6. I counted 30! And you say you have more? lol Well, it's better than drugs and alcohol. :)

By the way, they are really cute; makes me want another pair that is more colorful than what I have. (I have 3 pair, but 2 have worn soles and are kept for yard work, which I seldom do.

Maybe I've told you this before, but I have MANY key rings from all over the country and abroad, too - not that I've been all these places. 'They range from city, state, and country names, to museums, to flags, to dogs, etc. I need a better way of displaying or storing them. Right now, they are attached to a long chain that is hung over a hook in my walk-in pantry. Really special, right? Where are all of your shoes?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Anita: I love the key rings- those would be fun to collect because there is such a variety out there. And my poor husband has had to move his boots and shoes out of our closet and into another, smaller closet because my shoes have taken over. And thanks- I love colorful and cute, too!

    2. I'm back because after reading some of the other comments, I thought about your question again and have to say that I am not obsessed with key rings; it's more of a collection that's hard to bypass when I see some displayed. An obsession I do have is having a clean kitchen - not all the time, but once I start, I have to finish. Someone else mentioned containers... Got me there, too.

    3. It sounds like a really neat collection. I love a clean kitchen, as well and have tried to teach my girls to Clean As You Go!

I don't have a mild obsession with anything. I have a severe obsession with lots of things. :) That's not far from the truth because when something or someone interests me I'm all in. For years I stalked the Downton Dowager until she got a restraining order! :) In all honesty I would say my chief obsessions currently are health and fitness, music, humor, blogging and building quality friendships.

  14. There was a time when I was compulsive about buying art books. At one point I had hundreds of them, even books about artists I didn't like, including books in languages I couldn't read. A few years ago I got rid of all but a few of them.

  15. Those shoes are beautiful. The Hurricane and I go into a large department store every now and then, and we become ridiculously excited over a large shoe department. The Hurricane will try on 20 pairs and then almost always buy the first pair she tried. I'm not sure how many pairs of shoes I have, but I really like boots. I'm sad when it's too hot to wear them during the summer. I guess the shoes are a mild obsession, as are my autographed books. I have other obsessions that are not so mild: prayer, rescuing dogs, grammar, an uncluttered house, Sylvia Plath, Emily Dickinson, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and countless books and poems. So much fascinates me. Willy Dunne Wooters has learned to live with the fact that he can't leave a coaster sitting out. After a coaster is used, it MUST go back into the coaster container on the lazy susan in the kitchen.

    Love,
Janie, who thinks your shoes are delightful

  18. Having babies....

Ooooh, I love them!! (your shoes) My favorites are the bright pink ones...not the shiny ones, they are the 2nd from the top-right!

I love them all! With all the cool colors and styles, how could anyone not be obsessed with them?

Seriously, though, probably zipper jammies for my 2 youngest. I love, want and buy almost every pair I see.
Good thing I only shop at Wal-mart and Sam's Club...and I'm picky, they have to be Carter's. They last the longest.

  19. Ok, so we have a bit of a colorful sneaker issue here. There are worse things to be to be obsessed over, though, my friend!

I'm obsessed with pretty stationery, pretty address labels, and also with finding the perfect pen that doesn't leak after several uses, but that isn't too expensive. Any suggestions would be welcome!

I still love you, colorful sneaker collection and all. :-D

    1. Christine: I love to coordinate my shoes with the colors in the rest of my workout clothes, so that plays a part (I sounds so vain) and it also depends on what kind of workout we're doing, because some are better for running, others for plyometrics, etc. And agates are beautiful- hopefully you find a bucketful again!

    2. Dearest Shelly;
Wow, lots of shoes and really colorful(^_^)v Do you choose the shoes according to the color of the training clothes? If so, WONDERFUL and brighten your time, I think. I smiled with the word " the inevitable collision" :-) To tell the truth, I easily obsessed with things and the worst one is clothes. My bed room is full of my clothes since young (I know I should throw old ones, haha) Thank for the tip for the next blog topic, hehe.

  27. Your gym shoe collection has nothing on my flip flop collection. My husband doesn't understand it. Yet he has seven pairs of white tennis shoes. Now I want a pair of those colorful, soft bodies shoes. My obsession is browsing thrift stores, not always buying.

I used to be obsessed with card games. I'd learn, play and master a game and then move on to another. Poker, euchre, hearts, spades, pinochle, cribbage, bridge, etc... I'm glad I'm done with all that.
